ITG RFID™ Inventory & Shelf Management
ITG All-in-One Handheld Reader
Until now, no handheld PDA-style inventory reader has had the accuracy and speed required to make a success of RFID-enabled shelf reading and inventory. That's because the power typically delivered by such devices (no higher than 0.6 watt) is simply insufficient for adequate performance in a packed library shelf environment (1.0 watt required). However, ITG now offers libraries a wireless handheld inventory unit with that full watt of power, which has tested at better than 99% accuracy.
The new All-in-One Handheld Reader combines advanced wireless technology and data management with single-handed ease of use. The unit's large touch screen and programmable keys provide the user and the library's IT manager with powerful operational tools. Its extended battery life (7 hours) allows operators to work a full day without interruption or fear of lost data. The speed and accuracy of this device is attributable to its full watt of power as compared to the 0.6 watt power of the handheld units that have been available up until now. That’s a 50%+ improvement in reading performance!
ITG's handheld unit reads both RFID tags and barcodes. The flexible swivel RFID antenna is optimized for fast and accurate reading of tags on library shelves whether high or low.
ITG PowerReader™
ITG offers its PowerReader™ shelf reading system as part of its TotalMobile™ staff station. The ergonomic PowerReader wand features a 25" length to allow a wide reading range without bending or reaching and a 12 ft. cord for easy movement around the mobile cart. Most importantly, it uses a full watt of power for fast, accurate performance. ShelfMaster™ software detects missing and misshelved materials as well as inactive security bits, which it can reset. Data gathered during the inventory process can be later downloaded into your library's database.
By eliminating the need to physically handle every item, the ITG PowerReader can mean a 10-fold (or better) reduction in the time it takes to perform inventory. For many libraries, what up to now, has simply been impossible, is not only feasible, but can be done on a regular basis. Complete inventories in days instead of months, hours instead of weeks.
