XpressCheck™ Features

As easy to install and maintain as it is for patrons to use

Powerful Software that allows staff to customize and configure virtually everything a patron sees or hears

No two libraries are identical. So why would one standard self-checkout system be a perfect fit for any library? It wouldn't, and ITG understands that. That's why we give you the ability to customize XpressCheck™ to uniquely suit the needs of your library, staff, and patrons. Easily change screen and audio messages as you see fit. Advertise upcoming library events or special holiday hours by adding special notes to your receipts. And, deliver self-service to patrons "their own way" in up to four different languages per station. Additionally, you can provide patrons with the ability to pay their fees and fines and open locked AV security cases, making self-checkout truly full-service.

Seamless Integration with your library's ILS

XpressCheck interfaces with all major ILS vendors' databases, including Endeavor, III, Polaris, SirsiDynix, TLC and Evergreen, just to name a few. This ensures that patron and material information is accurate and up-to-date. Should your ILS go down, patrons can continue to check out materials. XpressCheck's Store-and-Forward (SAF) saves transactional data until your ILS is up and running. When the ILS is available, XpressCheck updates the circulation database with any offline transactions.

Interface with all library security systems: EM, RF, and RFID

XpressCheck supports traditional Radio Frequency (RF), Electromagnetic (EM, such as 3M™ Tattle-Tape™ system) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) security systems. And, of course, the self-service station can also be used in libraries not using loss prevention technology with the option to upgrade to RFID or other security in the future. In addition, XpressCheck interfaces with most AV locking media cases, allowing patrons to check out all materials in the library on their own.

Attractive customizable designs that match space needs and building décor

The kiosk design provides a perfect match to your library's décor. Choose one of our standard finishes or select a customized laminate. XpressCheck comes in countertop and freestanding models that are ADA-compliant.

Or, select our build-in model and incorporate the self-checkout components into your own furniture.

The freestanding kiosks store the keyboard and mouse out of sight. Space is also available for storing extra receipt paper. Freestanding kiosks can be placed anywhere there is a network connection.

Secure wireless network connectivity

XpressCheck works with a standard 802.11x wireless connection to your 10/100/1000 Base T Ethernet network.

Remote management of multiple machines from a single staff computer on the network

Using XpressCheck's Management Console, a staff person can remotely configure any or all stations that are connected to the library's network. This valuable tool is perfect for larger library systems, ensuring consistency throughout.

Detailed reporting tools

Each self-checkout unit captures statistics that can be used to create detailed reports. Time ranges for queries can be by hour (on a 24 hour basis), day, week, month, or specific date range. Here are just some of the queries available:

The library can generate custom queries or ITG can provide programming for custom queries and reports for an additional charge.

Inexpensive and Easy Upgrade to RFID

RFID is the next evolution in library automation. You might not be considering RFID today, but sooner or later, RFID will be at the top of your list. XpressCheck is designed to be easily upgraded to RFID in the future. Check out our RFID products and services.

Options for both on-site and remote installation and training

All XpressCheck systems are designed to be installed by library staff with expert guidance from an ITG technician over the phone and through a web based interface. The library can also opt for on-site installation and training. In both instances, ITG provides basic training on system use to general staff and advanced configuration and troubleshooting training to technical staff.

Fast and friendly technical support

Our expert technical support team is able and ready to help whenever needed. A remote software facility allows us to view and correct software problems on the spot. Hardware components are modular, totally accessible, and easy to replace should it become necessary (even by regular branch staff).
